      • Worst Dealership in KY for service
      • We have had several Cadillacs in the past, having no problems with other Dealer Service shops. This was in California. We moved to Kentucky 4 years ago and I was not familiar with any Cadillac dealers here. I searched on line to find that Somerset Automotove Group (formerly Karnes GM Center) was the closest dealer from my home, which is 1 hour away. We took our car there because we had a problem with the car starving for gas and losing power after driving it more than 40 miles straight. They could never find the problem, therefore, that was never fixed. We had a transmission oil leak. All they did were tighten the bolds. When we got home it still leaked all over our garage floor. We also had a problem with the airbag system, which required a new module. They put that in. We had a bracket break off the exhaust which made a rattle, after a full week of having the car, they decided to order the part. I went in there after a week to see how the car was coming along. They said the bracket had not come in yet, so I ordered an oil change and a tire rotation and a diaphram for the cruise control, since the cruise control would not hold, which she wrote down on a service order. Now this was a week ago from today. Two days ago my husband called to see if the car was finished and it was not. Apparently the only Cadillac technician they have decided to go on vacation before finishing my car. The service writer said she would check to see when it will be done and call us back. We never heard back from her. Their customer service skills are beyond belief. It is no wonder why General Motors is going under. I called yesterday and spoke with the Shop Foreman to see what their problem is. He stated they are short handed and good workers are hard to come by. OH SWELL!!! If figured from the beginning that they had inferior technicians since they never did figure out what the problem was with my car starving for gas. The shop foreman then said that the bracket for the exhaust pipe came in. They will put it on and will call us tomorrow (which is today) to tell us when we can pick up the car. The service writer called to say the car was ready for pick up. My husband asked her if the diaphram was done for the cruise control and she spoke as if she had NO idea what he was talking about. They dropped the ball again. She said they will check to see if they had the part and if they do they will put it on the car. My husband told her that if they do not have the part, not to order it, he will pick up the car the way it is because he can't be without a car forever and ever. We will be picking up the car this afternoon (after 2 weeks) and taking it to another dealer 54 miles away to have the gas problem fixed and the diaphram, never to set eyes on Somerset Automotive Group again. Dealing with this Dealership has been a total night mare !! I wouldn't allow this dealership to grease the wheels on my granddaughters wagon, and that's a fact. (Angryashell, 03/25/2009)
